MOOSE is the Multiscale Object Oriented Simulation Environment for modeling and simulation in Neuroscience and Systems Biology

Purpose

MOOSE is a general purpose simulator that can be used to create models and run simulations in computational biology. It allows simulation at multiple scales, from chemical reaction between a small number of molecules to large networks of neurons. It is backward compatible with GENESIS and can run GENESIS scripts with little or no modification. MOOSE is also available as a python library called PyMOOSE. Thus MOOSE classes can be used inside Python programs to create models and run simulations.
